We believe homeschool should be co-operative and affordable. We are a child led parent facilitated program. Parents must take an active role in our programs. We are not a drop-off program because we believe families should have an opportunity to build lasting relationships.

We see the learner as a rounded whole person. It’s not about learning math or vocabulary, but instead inspiring desire for lifelong learning and creating independent thinkers. We’re multidisciplinary and holistic. â€‹â€‹

We are defined as a secular co-op. We are unaligned with any political affiliation or specific religion. While our current members are Christian moms,  we chose to offer a secular curriculum because it is more inclusive and well rounded. We are inclusive and welcoming to all families. Everyone is welcomed and appreciated here.

Our organization holds strong core values: respect, integrity, and community service. At Spark Joy Homeschool Co-op, we believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. â€‹

Kindness Policy:

We believe that to preserve the function and integrity of Spark Joy Homeschool Co-op, and to provide a role model to our students and the community, it is imperative that all persons participating in Spark Joy Homeschool Co-op in any capacity, agree to a kindness policy. We will always treat others as we wish to be treated.

By participating in Spark Joy Co-op you agree to this statement: Spark Joy Homeschool Co-op everyone must refrain from harassing behavior and from practicing or promoting such unacceptable forms of behavior.

Our programs are made possible through donations of support. Please consider making a small donation to help Spark Joy continue to offer valuable learning opportunities.

Mission Statement

The mission of Spark Joy Homeschool Cooperative is to provide affordable, high quality, fun-filled academic classes, community service projects, and field trips.

Forest School

First we will romp through the area for 30-40minures depending on when the children begin to feel tired. Then we will read a book and have snack time (pack a snack to bring for your children). After that, we will do a craft: children will be instructed to use items from nature to create art. This is unstructured freedom to create.

Then we will hike back out of the woods and conduct an AAR (After Action Review) to give kids time to share aloud about the experience. Some parks have playgrounds, if time permits we can spend time on those after hikes. During this time parents are welcome and encouraged to give feedback about what you would like to see in Forest School.

Hide Away in History

In our history classes, we explore different time periods, cultures, and events, fostering a deep understanding of the past and its impact on the present. We read about historical events and then build things to play with to "live" the history. It makes learning memorable, engaging, and fun! We use the curriculum  "Hideaway In History" published by Winter Promise, which is a completely hands on curriculum. Through this program, we make history come to life for our students. Check the event schedule for details.

Science

Our science courses cover various scientific disciplines, encouraging hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning to spark curiosity and discovery. We are using Elemental Science. It is a secular science curriculum. We did this due to the fact that often Christian based science texts are watered down. We want our children to have a strong foundational understanding of scientific concepts.
